To get to this beach you need to go through a short tunnel under the railroad tracks which is how the beach got its name. Hole in the Wall Beach is part of McCook’s Point Park that offers a white sandy beach protected to the east by a stone jetty, and on the west by McCook’s Point beach.
As you exit the tunnel, you will see the western entrance to the Niantic Bay Boardwalk. In front of you is a gorgeous view of Long Island Sound. Hole in the Wall Beach is to your right.
Parking is available on Baptist Lane (off Niantic’s Main Street – Rte. 156). From Memorial Day to Labor Day, passes are required. Season and day passes can be purchased from the East Lyme Parks & Recreation Department on Society Road, or day passes can be purchased at the Hole-in-the-Wall Beach entrance.
