SUMMARY:Dr. Dennis Rebelo (Story Like You Mean It) Author Signing
DESCRIPTION:Savoy Bookshop & Café presents an author signing with Dr. Dennis Rebelo for the book\, Story Like You Mean It: How to build and Use your Personal Narrative to Illustrate Who You Really Are. \nAbout the Book\nEach of us has a story to share\, a mixture of lived experiences—planned and unplanned—that come together and give our existence shape and identity. But in a world where we rely on screens and images for communication and self-expression\, do we truly know how to tell our story? \nDo you know how to tell yours? \nIn Story Like You Mean It\, Dr. Dennis Rebelo helps you communicate with ease and connect with others by constructing a self-narrative with intention and purpose. At the intersection of academic theory and practical experience\, Dr. Rebelo shares insights he has gained coaching clients on how to build and then share their life-work narratives. Students from the US Navy and CVS Health’s Executive Learning Series for Diverse Suppliers\, and even NFL alumni\, have used Dr. Rebelo’s Peak Storytelling model to navigate personal history\, reflect on influential moments\, and compellingly communicate their true value. What raw experiences made you who you are today? How do you express them meaningfully to showcase your worth? Dive into the intricacies of StoryPathing\, become the master of your own narrative\, and reap the benefits of sharing who you truly are. \nAbout the Author\nDr. Dennis Rebelo is a professor\, speaker\, and career coach. SUMMARY:Moonglow matinee
DESCRIPTION:Moonglow\nBy Jack Neary\nDirected by Jack Neary\nProduced by Players’ Ring Theatre \nIt’s 1967. Ray Healy is a music teacher and a marching band leader in his parish. At 50\, he’s single\, he’s highly respected\, and he leads a quiet life. Arlene Hodge\, 45\, assists him with the marching band\, and would like to get closer to him. She’s heard a rumor that he had been married years ago\, but that’s something he never discusses. As one of his students says\, Ray is a “big question mark.” Arlene sets out to answer that question\, and when she does\, she finds herself embroiled in a dilemma she never thought she’d have the courage to confront. But she believes Ray is worth it. Question is\, does Ray believe that himself? \nPeripheral characters include a funny\, smart-as-a-whip music student\, plus Ray’s first wife\, and a neighborhood mom with a sharp tongue who has her own designs on the music teacher. \nIt’s a play about choices made at a young age which perhaps irrevocably affect an individual’s later life. The question asked along the way is… what will survive? Love or a man’s strict belief system? In 1967\, this was a real question. And\, in some ways\, it remains a question today. \nFridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm\nSaturdays and Sundays at 2:30pm \nOur neighbor “Puddle Dock” restaurant is offering a 10% discount on food and free parking to Players’ Ring patrons! Visit their website to reserve\, and present your ticket when you ask for your check. \nGeneral Admission: $25\nSeniors (65+): $22\nStudents: $22\nThis show is included in our subscription packages.
